Domination

ALDS Los Angeles Angels vs Boston Red Sox

I haven’t seen domination like this since that time Dave put me in a choke hold and I had to tap out.

The Red Sox absolutely owned the Rays in Fenway, and I have to say that watching them fall back to 12 1/2 games in the AL Wild Card race was extremely satisfying. The Rays looked flat and demoralized. Longoria looked like he was mentally practicing his golf swing over at third.

The best part of this series was watching what will be the Big 3 for next season’s starting rotation: 1) Beckett, 2) Lester, 3) Buchholz. All three were lights out over the weekend, and it gives me a lot of hope for the Playoffs with the shortened rotation. Becks looked insanely good. Exactly what the Sox need in September and October, and I’m happy to have him back. (You’ll notice he’s the only starting pitcher who still uses ‘Tek all the time. Hmmm…)

The Rays were held to 2 runs over 3 games, and the Orioles were. . . the Orioles. They’re 0-11 at Fenway since last July.

The questions are all over the internet about Wake. Will he come back as a full time starter?

The bats are getting hot at exactly the right time too. Everybody but ‘Tek seems to be hitting the way that they should, and V Mart (an incredibly lame nickname for an incredible player) has jumped right in and done more than his share.

The Sox have won 5 in a row at home, sweeping both the Orioles and the Rays, and Joe Maddon will now go home, polish his 2008 ALCS trophy, and spend the off season wondering how Scott Kazmir ended up with the Angels. I really don’t like Joe Maddon.

Day off tomorrow for the boys, but this next series should be a great preview of the ALDS against the Angels!!
